35+ Help at Spring Creek Cleanup

By Corinne Stephens

WOW!!!  More than 35 volunteers came out on a chilly damp morning in March to save the trees and cleanup trash along Lockridge Drive.

We saved at least 30 trees from strangling English ivy and porcelainberry and picked up at least 10 bags of trash.

Special thanks to Robin Loube for supplying volunteers with caffeine and sugar and Sharon Canavan for bringing a pickup truck load to the county plant debris dump.

The best part:  we are making a real difference!  When I compare photos from a few years ago (when we started tackling the same area), and compare to now, the vines are dwindling and the trees look healthier.  Way to go team!
