Hoover-Fisher Florist is moving after 65 years in Four Corners at Woodmoor Shopping Center.
The family-owned and -operated business opened in 1954. Bill Fisher — son of one of the original owners — and his wife Ginger own and manage the business today. Their daughter Allie is Marketing and Sales Manager and son Mason is Flower Buyer and Manager.
The new location is only six miles away from Four Corners/Woodmoor Shopping Center at 4100 Howard Avenue in Kensington. Hoover-Fisher Florist will keep the same phone number and website. The move is planned for some time in January 2021.
They will be open and operating fully at the Four Corners location with their gift store and flower deliveries through the holiday season. Before Valentine’s Day, they should be fully settled in their new location, which will include a gift shop and out front parking.
The decision to move was based on several factors, including owning the building instead of renting, opportunity to renovate and modernize their facility, and more space for their business to expand in the future.
This is a bittersweet move for the Fisher family from the Four Corners neighborhood where they grew up, attended school, and owned and managed a business.
Hoover-Fisher Florist will be missed! ■
