As we seek joy and normalcy in these challenging times, a neighborhood work group developed a plan to give the kids (and young-at-heart) in our community a fun and socially distant Halloween experience. Signs advertising participation are available for download to print here.
Join in the fun for contactless trick-or-treating from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.! In addition to following Montgomery County guidance on masking and social distance ( www.montgomerycountymd.gov/COVID19), we encourage taking the following actions on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31:
In the event of severe weather, the rain date for this activity will be Saturday, November 7th.
To get us all in the Halloween spirit, NFCCA is sponsoring two contests for residents of the NFCCA area. Winners of both contests will be posted to the public NFCCA Facebook page at www.facebook.com/nfccaMoCo and shared on the NFCCA listserv.
For those with seasonal decorating skills, email an exterior photo of your home, being sure to include your address to NFCCAHalloween at gmail dot com by October 25. We encourage everyone to get out and see the entries in person if you can!
Winners will be awarded in five categories:
If you or your child would like to volunteer as a judge, please email by October 22nd.
For the proud pet parents, get your pet in costume and have them smile for the camera! There are two ways to enter: post a photo of your pet to the NFCCA Facebook page at www.facebook.com/nfccaMoCo; or email a photo of your pet to NFCCAHalloween at gmail dot com by October 29th to be posted for you.
The three photos with the most “reactions” on Facebook by Halloween night will be the winners.
We look forward to celebrating with everyone. Be safe and have fun! ■
