The developer — Craig Kay, Glimour-Brunett, LLC — submitted a revised application on 17 March for the day care facility proposed for the vacant property on the corner of University Boulevard and Brunett Avenue (pictured). This was in response to the strong opposition of the Four Corners area civic associations and the unanimous vote of the County Planning Board to deny this special exception request.
The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC) staff had recommended this denial because the facility did not comply with the Four Corners Master Plan, violated space requirements for day care facilities, and would increase traffic congestion in the Four Corners intersection. The project is currently scheduled for a hearing by the Zoning Board of Appeals on 15 April.

Although the revised application may cause the schedule to change, the second public hearing is currently scheduled for 15 April 2011, 9:30 a.m., at the Stella B. Werner Council Office Building, Second Floor, Davidson Memorial Hearing Room, 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, MD 20850.
